One sign of maturity is when a person takes responsibility for their attitude.
We can’t control everything that happens to us, we can only decide our effort and attitude towards those things; those decisions go a long way.
Obviously it’s not easy to deal with everything in life wearing a huge smile, but that doesn’t mean you have to mope around and be a negative about it either. Things can always be better, and things can always be worse.
We’ll always have something to appreciate, as long as theirs oxygen flowing in our lungs; if that’s not something people want to be grateful for, then those people should get used to living with misery.
We’ll always have something to complain about. Finding things to improve is in our wiring, and keeps the human race progressive. Entrepreneurs make fortunes solving problems (or inventing problems) that affect the population. Decide where you want to be on this spectrum.
Our attitude towards others also reveals a lot about our attitude towards ourselves. Often, the greatest hate we experience, is the hate we place on ourselves. Working to improve our outlook on ourselves will also have a positive effect on the way we treat others; don’t take my word for it, try it out.
Our attitudes belong to us, and do much to determine how life feels, it’s time to grow up and take control of it.
